On December 31, 2020 Prickly Pear Land Trust (PPLT) gathered with local representatives to announce and celebrate their acquisition of former ASARCO lands for the East Helena Greenway Project. After years of multi-stakeholder collaboration, the Montana Environmental Trust Group LLC (METG) transfered 322 acres along the Prickly Pear Creek corridor for development of an 8-mile trail system that will connect East Helena with Montana City.
